Episode 23: Living Daylights and our Most Wanted spin-offs

G&T Podcast Episode 23 Show notes.

We briefly discuss the Australian delicacy, The Chicken Parma. George had a beautiful Parma from the Kinglake Pub but the true effect is a little lost and requires the negative side of the spectrum.

Travis also offers up the next Australian challenge, The Pie Floater which may very well send us on the road to experience it.

What have we been watching?

Travis: The Whispers (produced by Spielberg) directed Mark Romanek - totally worth watching.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3487410/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Dark Matter however is more of the a-typical popcorn media with only a little going for it.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4159076/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Season 3 of Orange is the New Black is excellent.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2372162/?ref_=nv_sr_1

George:

Jurassic World does a very good job of recapturing the magic from the first movie.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369610/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Pixar’s Inside Out is fantastic, Amy Poehler is gorgeous, Phyllis Smith is adorable as Sadness.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2096673/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Terrible Movies…

George: Battlefield Earth. Oh the horror… Profit-driven, Rastafarian aliens have enslaved the Human Race. John Travolta is a complete dick and poor, poor Forest Whitaker does whatever he can to simply survive the movie. From the box-art up, this movie is terrible.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0185183/?ref_=nv_sr_4

Travis: The Ringer. Travis was very lucky comparatively but still this movie is a poor, paint-by-numbers Farrelly Brother-esque “comedy”. On one saving grace is the impressive and interesting use of the Intellectually disabled performers.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0267891/?ref_=nv_sr_3

This week we bet on Women’s Beach Volleyball. Poland vs Canada. Poland won!! George is off the hook for this week. Travis must choose an envelope of shame and the “winner” is…

American Psycho 2 starring Mila Kunis and William Shatner.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0283877/?ref_=nv_sr_2

Indiana was recently votes as the best character icon with James Bond in number two and Han Solo in number three.

We then talk about James Bond The Living Daylights.

A movie that has not aged very well and doesn’t impress Travis much, but George challenges him to watch Licence to Kill.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093428/?ref_=nv_sr_2

Travis asks me what I would do if I was given the rights to James Bond. Imagine an old man Bond similar to Frank Miller’s Older Bruce Wayne from The Dark Knight Returns. The ultimate strategist. Possibly, Michael Caine, Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen cast as Bond…
