Artist Bidding period ends

Hey there guys and girls,

Well as the subject heading suggests, the Arist Bidding period has now ended. But there were two artists who equally impressed me in two very different ways. I have now invited both artists to deliver a print quality, finished single page from the first issue.

If they both agree to the paid challenge then they will have one week to work on it and send it back to me.

The two artists who have "gone through to the next round are, Judit Tondora and Bruce Lugli.

I have to thank all the artists who have been bidding on my project and there have been a number of you who created Man of God artwork as part of your bid. Please do not feel disheartened by my decision to not choose you this time.

As soon as I have confirmation from the two remaining artists, I will post details of their challenge as well as the script for the page they will be creating for me.

Best of luck to you all.

Artist Bidding period

With half of the bidding time over on iFreelance complete, things are starting to really get serious and I have been reviewing all of the artists work that has been submitted (as well as some other artists I've found along the way).

Things are getting exciting!

If you're an artists interested in working on the artwork for Man of God, please do not hesitate to contact me either through the ifreelance web page or this very site.

Time is now starting to run out for consideration.

P.S.
Thanks so much to all the artists who have have sent me additional artwork to showcase their talents -- you are all great.

Forthcoming details

Hi there guys,

You'll be pleased to know that I have now completed the first 7 scripts (which will end up making the first collected book) for Man of God. I have also finished the first drafts for the next six issues, as well as the first drafts for the first two parts of A Tale Of Two Sisters.

Progress is coming on very well at the moment.

There are a few good little nuggets of potential greatness on the horizon - I won't voice them out loud yet as they are still in very early stages. But needless to say, if things come together like I am trying to get them to, there could be a major announcement in the near(ish) future.

For now, I will keep pushing forward no matter the obstacles.

Man of God

Hey there all you fellow crazies!

Just letting you know that i have not forgotten to keep you all posted about the developments of Man of God but there was a little hiccup and I've been busy rectifying the situation over the last few days.

But I am here to tell you that it is all sorted now and things can progress as they should.

More updates coming soon.

A Tale of Two Sisters

What is, "A Tale of Two Sisters" I hear you ask, and what does it have to do with "Man of God"?

Well this is a non-essential, but highly entertaining and innovative sub-story for the "Man of God" serial.
It is a story that brings focus onto two of the supporting characters from the serial and deepens the entire mythology of "Man of God".

This is in fact the first of an entire series of sub-stories that will be written for the "Man of God" serial as special when the serial is officially released.
These specials will delve into the pasts, missed presents, and futures of some of the supporting characters. They are designed to be essentially self-contained stories that anyone can simply pick up and read from start to finish and get an enjoyable and entertaining read, but also so that anyone who reads the "Man of God" serial can read and theyy learn more about the supporting characters.

The motto is...

Everyone has a story to tell.

Th speed o light/the speed of life

Oh so we're doing well! Three posts within a few days of each other!

So I have had a couple of people read th final drafts of the first few issues of Paperchaser and they have all given me very good reviews, which is nice. But they have also all commente that they can really see it working as either a TV series or a movie franchise.

So on the back of these comments I am going to complete the rewrites of the first storyarc and then I' going to look at adapting it for thesetwo mediums.

I guess it's never lost it's original design. I concieved the story idea whilst trying to devlope an idea for a short movie and then a TV series.

When I know more so shall you

Paperchaser latest news

Well, well, well... I haven't been able to keep up with weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly updates as I promised myself that I would but I have still been very busy!

The good news is that I have now completed the final drafts of Issues 1-6 of Paperchaser (which incidentally may be changing names as I'm still not entirely happy with it)

Even if I do say so myself, I believe that the scripts are as tight as possible and really quite excellent.

I've been flitting around writing bits and pieces of different stories for so long, I think that the lessons I've consciously and subconsciously learnt are starting to fall into place and (needless to say) are seriously improving my writing abilities!

I will be updating the copyright on these newest versions first thing tomorrow and then I shall post the final draft of the first issue in the coming week.
As well as this I will also be uploading character profiles for a number of the characters.

Father Time

So I have finally worked out how I am gong to tell my time travel story and it has taken the shape of a TV series!

I for one really like this idea because it offers me a refreshing change from my current workings with comics. Not to Kenton the story is pretty damn good even if I do say so myself.

As yourself this one question...
"If I made a truly heinous mistake, how far would I got to rectify it?"

A dedication

Ok so I've decided to make a formal dedication to write something on my blog at least once a week; even if it's complete and utter pooperdoodles and doesn't really contribute to The Terraverse other than for me to vent the random thoughts, ideas, plots, schemes and other quirks of life.

And this is the first of those.

I've decided that I am not going to overwork myself at work ever again - why should I?! I'm not being paid enough as it is and it crtainly is not my career choice!

I am an entertainer at any cost but I do have some rather out there thoughts. For example, I've decided to study Criminology with the Open University. Why? Where did this cone from? I don't know. I guess I have a deep down childish dream of being a detective like Sherlock Holmes and solve crimes; maybe have my own personal arch-nemesis.
Maybe I'm just really bored of the rut my life is in and I'm retreating back into my mental world where I can be master of anything I want.

At least think it'll be interesting and could help to fuel my character development in my stories.

Hmmm...

Speaking of stories, I have a new addition to the Terraverse universe. I'll write that in a seperate note so it doesn't get too confusing.

Somethig new!

Hey there guys and girls! Sorry for the extended and tremendously long break between posts - it is officially coming to an end... Now!!

In fact, I am so determined to write this post that it's taken me a good few days to finish I'd as the web link I'm using is via iPod touch and I'm grabbing signal where and whenever I can.

now, on to the meat of the post... I have finally learned how to write a proper comics proposal!!! (it's Christmas miracle!) so be expecting some up-to-date and professional proposals to be uploaded in the coming days and weeks.

In the meantime I would like to introduce to Amy Jones.
She has a problem... she's super clumsy and her city is caught in the iron grip of "J", the notorious super-villain.

Amy Jones us a first-time collaboration between me (that'd be George) and Sabrina Penewiss, a highly talented anime artist. This also marks the first time that I have drifted into the anime waters... the results are pretty interesting...

As I say, a full and professionally written proposal will be put online soon and there will be some artwork for the project too. So for now, hold tight and keep the inventive imagination flowing.

The Comic Formerly Known As "Paperchaser"

Hey guys, well here I am with another up-date (and within a week of the last post!)

There isn't much to report so far but I have taken the week off work from tomorrow onwards and I will be illustrating every day. I have completed the page layouts and I know exactly what does where.

Hopefully, by the end of the week I will have some pencilled pages ready to show you.

Until then, stay chaotic!

Sorry for dropping off the face of the planet

Hey there fellow Fried Brainers!

Sorry I've been silent since the Bristol Comic-Con - good God, it's been nearly 2 months!

Well I am pleased to inform you all that I have not been sitting on my butt doing nothing... no, no, no! I have been revising the scripts for Paperchaser (which is currently undergoing a name-change) as well as coming up with a totally new graphic novel involving time travel (I'll let you know more as soon as possible ;-)

So what have I been doing with the comic series formerly known as Paperchaser? Well, I've been streamlining it, molding it into something even better and I have vowed to illustrate the first issue myself! (trust me to choose to draw the toughest issue - I'm gonna have to tap into my inner J G Jones and Phil Jimenez to pull this off!)

I've nearly finished the preliminary page layout doodles and as soon as artwork starts to flow, it will be online!

With regards to the ever in construction Fried Brain Productions web site... I have had to hold off from fully launching the site because of financial squeezing. Until that site is actually active, I will be keeping posting going on this site (hopefully with more frequency from now on).

Please accept my apologies for neglecting you for so long.

As a small consolation prize, the pictures above are some of the pages from the revised scripts so you can see just how much has been altered.

The Coming and Going of of Bristol 2008

Well the Bristol International Comics Expo has now come and gone I can quite safely say that it has been a great show with special thanks to the following people:
  •  The two Pete's of Crazy Pants, Ross Bert and his family -- these guys are true class acts and deserve all the best fortune in the future - READ THEIR COMICS TOO!
  • David Morris and Mike Allwood for fitting us into the show this year and for their continued support throughout the event.
  • Karen Berger, Bob Wayne and Eddie Berganza from DCU and VERIGO for being very patient and chatting to Fried Brain Productions.
  • Nathan Kilburn for attending the show and delivering, once again, truly great artwork in a short space of time (Dude, I promise that next time you'll have more time!)
  • And especially thanks to all of you guys who visited the stall and purchased a copy of Chimera!

Please send me any constructive criticism you may have from the comics and I sincerely look forward to seeing you again at the next show... although I'm not quite sure when that will next be...

As more artwork for the Fried Brain Productions projects becomes available, it will be uploaded ASAP.

FINALLY...

ALTERED STATE: COMMUNITY COMIC

I was chatting with a number of you guys at the show about the project and you sounded enthusiastic about the idea and the official web site will (hopefully) up and running by the end of this month with full details.
In the meantime, if you'd like to get started on some of the stories that are cooking in your brain, e-mail me and I will send you all the details about the Community Comic and the synopsis for the 6-issue through story. Then just get your stuff copy-written (send Recorded Delivery to yourself and don't open it is the cheapest and best way of doing this) and send over a synopsis to me and we'll take it from there!

Thanks again for all your support and encouragement and remember that everyone knows what a Fried Brain is like!

Later,

George
